2008 Rotary Denizens of the Deep Service Project
Cub Scout Leaders,
Please find attached the Brandon '86 Rotary Club's flyer
for their upcoming Denizens of the Deep Family Fish Fry on Sat., Nov. 1. This Fish Fry is our Charter Organization's major fundraiser with all proceeds going to local charities. Please note, that the Club has added Pack 61 to their list of designated charities for this event meaning we will receive a portion of the proceeds (usually dependent on the level of support shown at the event by the charity). This is a great benefit for our Pack!
With this in mind, it is important that we have a great showing on the day of the event to support this effort. We are scheduled for a three hour service project from 12 to 3. I will coordinate the activity and be the point of contact for the day. We should meet at Rotary's Camp Florida, at the dining hall, at 11:30 (please check in with me). We will have the Scouts help clear tables etc. For coordination within the Pack, please distribute this flyer to your Den parents and strongly encourage them to participate in the event. Please coordinate this recruitment for your Den and let me know at the Oct. Pack meeting how many Scouts you are expecting to participate.
I can't stress enough how good of an event this is. You will definitely enjoy the food. With this in mind, the Club has agreed to let the supervising parent/guardian of each Scout attending the service project (for that three hour period) eat for free. Children 12 and under (including the Scouts of course) eat for free. Additional tickets for teenagers 13-18 ($10.00) and adults ($25.00) are available and I encourage you to make this a family event. This tickets are available on the date of the event at the Camp and I will try to have some tickets advanced to me for sale at the Oct. Pack Meeting. This effort is worth it as an excellent service project for the Scouts, as a fundraising effort for the Pack to support our activities, and for a great family fish fry experience.
