Pack 61 is charted by the Brandon '86 Rotary Club.  Our monthly Pack meetings are held from 7:00pm to 8:0pm on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in the multi-purpose room at Alafia Elementary School.

Sign Up Your Den:

  1. Please be sure to assign one parent from your den to be your Popcorn Coordinator.
  2. Have your Popcorn Coordinator contact Pearl with their contact information.

Coordinator's Duties:

  1. Organize Den Popcorn ordering.
  2. Collect orders and funds from Scouts.
  3. Turn order and funds on designated dates to the Popcorn Kernel ONLY. Please do not turn into anyone else!
  4. Assist in picking up the Pack order on designated date to be announced.
  5. Pick up your Den's popcorn order on designated dates.
  6. Collect and turn in the Scout's prize selection on designated date.
  7. Be sure every Scout has their ID and popcorn web password instruction sheet.

Important Dates:

1. First popcorn order due to Dave Fuson from Den Coordinator by 5pm on September 20, 2009.

2. Popcorn Coordinator needed to assist with the pickup of order. (Date to follow)

3. Popcorn Coordinator to pick up popcorn for your den on October 12th or sooner if notified by Kernel.

4. Watch for Den Booth sales dates from Pearl.

5. Prize selection due date to be announced.

Special Notes:

We will have a graph at each Pack Meeting enabling the boys and den's to track their success in sales.


Scout and Parent Info:

Scout Goal: Each boy needs to sell $250. If we make our goal of $15,000 we will not have to do booth sales!!

Incentives:

1. Scout Accounts:

a. Each Scout will earn 5% of their total sales (including booth sales) deposited into a Scout Account. These funds are to be used for scout activities (camps etc...), uniform accessories, and any other scout related function.

b. It is a use or loose. Once you leave Pack 61 it does not transfer. If you are a Webelos moving up to a Boy Scout you can use to purchase your Scout supplies prior to leaving the Pack.

c. Examples:

Sell $285 in Popcorn (This is the goal per boy and the national average per scout sold): $14.25 deposited into the account.

Sell $475 (if you fill the sheet up this is the average sold per filled sheet): $23.75 deposited into the account.

2. Prizes: This year the Pack is purchasing three grand prizes that the Scouts can be entered to win based on their sales. The Scout can choose to enter for either a Nintendo DSI or Flip camera.

a. Scout must sell $350 to earn their first raffle ticket to be entered into the drawing. For every $100 over the $350 the Scout will be qualify for an additional entry into the drawing.

b. In addition the pack will award weekly prizes as of 8/28/09 to 9/18/09. Scout needs to send in their sheet to their Den Popcorn Kernel when they have sales during the week. Sheets must be received by noon every Friday.

c. Trails End: We are doing their prize this year. (They are offering the prizes without cutting a huge chunk of our commission.)

d. Council Awards when your Scout fills his sheet fax to Pearl and it will be sent to the Council drawings as follows:

  1. Every youth that fills up a form will automatically receive a FREE marshmallow blaster! Be sure to send Pearl the form every Friday by 12 noon at either This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or via fax at 703-637-1147.
  2. $1000 or more sellers will be invited to a popcorn celebration party in the spring!
  3. Fill up form for 6 weekly drawings for: 4 Ipod Touch mp3s, Dell Laptop Computer, and a Big Screen HD LCD TV! ! e. Sell $250: Pack 61 will pay for your Scout and one adult parent to go to the Disney overnight camp in October.

f. Sell $1000: Pack will pay for Scout and one parent to attend any Pack Sponsor event.

Do's and Don'ts:

  1. Do wear your full scout uniform when selling.
  2. Don't wear your scout t-shirt.
  3. Do walk with a parent to the door.
  4. Don't walk alone.
  5. Do share your neighborhood if there is more than one scout from your Pack living in the same neighborhood.
  6. Don't leave another scout without an opportunity to sell in the neighborhood. Walk as a team.
  7. Do give them the receipt letting them know when they will be receiving their order.
  8. Don't forget to say "Thank You"
  9. Do collect the money with checks made payable to Pack 61.
  10. Don't leave without collecting the money.
  11. Do ask all your friends and family to place an order. You will be able to do on-line orders by the 8th of September.
  12. Do ask everyone you know if they will place an order.
  13. Don't forget to ask your local bank if they will sponsor your scout.
  14. Do have a great time!
